Kyriaki Mouratidis
I walk the streets in moments that pass in an instant – silent glances, quiet gestures, lives intersecting for a breath. In the chaos of everyday life, I seek tranquillity, truth, and the kind of beauty that doesn't ask to be seen.
My inspiration lives in the ordinary: A ray of light on a cracked sidewalk, the curve of a shadow, the echo of emotion on a stranger's face. I usually work in black and white, attracted by its simplicity and its power to distil a scene into its essence. Occasionally, colour finds its way when it deems it necessary, when it speaks louder than monochrome can speak.
Through the minimalist composition, I aim to frame not only the visual moment, but also the quiet story that lies beneath. Street photography is my way of listening to people. It teaches me to be patient, to stay curious, to stay open, and to absorb the rapidly changing world.
Each image is a question, a fragment, a small testimony to the common rhythm of our lives.
