Gabi Tobin
Whilst most 22 year olds are free, confused, exhilarated and full of excitement, I’m stuck in a constant state of rushing and obsessing with moving fast enough to keep up. In a world where time is moving so fast, my camera gives me the ability to freeze it. A click of a shutter allows stillness and a deep breath to be had. I’m Gabi, and I seem to have fallen madly in love with taking photos. With freezing a feeling, with eternalising a moment. Through portraiture, carefully crafted studio shots, through small everyday actions like a bee landing on a flower, explore my series “a pop of colour” - glimpses of a world full of colour that we sometimes forget to slow down and enjoy.
